Thomas R. Kany, 66, of Clinton died May 30, 2018, at St. Dominic Hospital following a brief illness. Tom was born on October 15, 1951 in Orlando, Florida, where he grew up and graduated from Edgewater High School. He attended Belhaven College and was a graduate of Delta State University.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Carl Kany; his mother, Jean Carrel Kany; and step-mother, Mary Jane Yandre Kany. He is survived by his wife, Jane Woodruff Kany; his daughters, Jennifer Smith of Long Beach, MS and Laura Rogers of Saucier, MS; stepchildren, Elaine Saxton and Joe Sharp; seven grandchildren; brother, Steven Kany and sisters, Karen King and Alice Heinsohn.
Tom loved God. He was an active member of the Church of the Creator in Clinton. He was a loving husband and father. Tom was a good, kind, thoughtful man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved the outdoors and gardening. He worked as a salesman and sales manager but was best known as a skilled carpenter, who could beautifully build or repair anything. He took pride in his home and was constantly improving it.
His body was cremated, and a memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Creator in Clinton on June 7 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Creator in Clinton.
