Mr. Geiger was born on May 27, 1940 in Bassfield, MS, to Florence Speights Geiger and Olin C. Geiger. He attended Bassfield Schools and Jackson Commercial College. He was employed by Capitol Hardware upon graduation, and for the next 59 ½ years, Capitol was his only place of employment. He loved his work there, but more so, he loved the people there, and they loved him. They were like family to him. He was loved, admired, and respected by many architects and contractors that he worked with throughout the years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Olin C. and Florence Geiger and wife, Jane Terrell Geiger. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Keeler Geiger, and children: Travis Anthony Geiger (Susan), Jana Renee Geiger, Konnie K. Victory, Cynthia K. Mercer (Brad), Laura K. Bailey (Bill), Melinda K Sarullo (Pete) , grandchildren: Emison Geiger, Tasha Young ( Matt) , Lacey Boatner ( John Wesley), Heather Burback ( Christian ), Hannah Archer ( Scott ) Harrison Mercer ( Carissa ), Gabrielle Logan ( Allan), Anne-Marie Bailey, Francesca Blount ( Wesley ), Madelina Sarullo and Isabella Sarullo. Great-grandchildren: Carson and Sarah Grace Young, John Luke, Austin and Joshua Boatner, Cashius Burback, Ethan, Levi, Luke, and Rosemary Archer, Tyler and Ian Mercer.
He is also survived by his sister, Montez Scarborough, brothers, Olin C. (Doris), Glenn ( Janice ), and Craig Geiger.
Travis was dearly loved and adored by all his family members, and will always be remembered for his quiet and gentle spirit, and the unconditional love and acceptance he displayed to everyone he knew. He was lovingly called Papa, and all the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew they had a special place in his heart.
Travis was an avid golfer, and had many friends on the golf course. His presence there will be greatly missed. In recent years, Travis had come to experience the presence and love of God in his life in a new and very real way. We rejoice knowing that we will be with him again in heaven one day.
