At Baptist Hospital, during the early evening of Wednesday, January 8, 2014, Trebbie Joel Puckett Keck, of Jackson, quietly slipped from this world into the terrestrial realm of our Lord. On March 30, 1930 Ulma Sullivan Puckett and Joel Thomas (Tom) Puckett welcomed the birth of their beautiful, dark-haired daughter, Trebbie Joel Puckett. Trebbie lived 83 wonderful years and died 21 years to the day as that of her mother. For the last few years,
Trebbie had been a resident of Manhattan Nursing Home. Trebbie was a northeastern Jacksonian and attended school in Jackson. While at Jackson Central High School, Trebbie was a cheerleader and a '49er'.
She later met and married Herbert Louis Keck and together they raised to manhood their two sons. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, Trebbie was active in many civic organizations, one being the Magnolia State Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution where she served on various boards and committees. She was also a member of Colonial Dames of America where she chaired many events and proudly served the organization. She was a lifelong Baptist and a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church.
During her active life, Trebbie let it be known that she 'hated' washing dishes, loved swimming and red convertibles. She was loved and respected by her family and her many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Puckett and her husband, Herbert Keck.
She is survived by her sons: Mr. Charles (Chuck) Thomas Keck and his wife, Karen, of Jackson and Mr. Herbert (Herb) Louis Keck and his wife, Melissa, one grandson, Ryan Keck, of Madison, and her brother, Odean Puckett of Ridgeland, Ms. Funeral services will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High St. in Jackson, on Friday, January 10th, 2014. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00 in the afternoon with the service immediately following. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Clinton Blvd. Clinton, MS
