Wanda graduated from Istrouma High School and from LSU. She is an avid LSU football and baseball fan and hardly ever missed a game in person or on TV. She loved her Tigers. She loved teaching. She taught English at Central Hinds Academy and then taught several Literature and writing classes at Mississippi College, until she retired. She enjoyed 52 years of marriage to Austin and they took many family vacations and vacations with friends and family. She also enjoyed adventures abroad with friends and beach vacations with her two sisters.
While teaching was her first passion, taking care of babies was second. She cared for many many children over many years. Her "honorary grandchildren" called her WaWa. She was known as the Baby Whisperer in the nursery at Parkway Baptist Church and Meadow Grove Baptist Church.
Wanda was kind, loving, and fiesty. She never met a stranger and she enjoyed a beautiful life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to those at Accent Home Care. You cared for our Mother with gentle hearts and hands. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Meadow Grove Baptist Church Preschool.
