William (Billy) Roland Jones, 87, transitioned peacefully to God’s Heaven on April 3rd, 2025. He was born on February 13th, 1938, and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where he lived a life full of purpose, curiosity, and kindness.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, a sister, and his beloved daughter. He is survived by his three sons, eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of strength, love, and resilience. Throughout his life, Billy wore many hats — fireman, farmer, inventor, and craftsman. But above all, he was a great and loving man. He never met a stranger and found joy in connecting with others, always eager to learn their stories and share a bit of his own. A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 8th, with his service to follow at 2:00 PM, at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. All who knew and loved Billy are welcome to attend and honor his remarkable life.
