Aaron Thomas West Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Aaron Thomas "Hoppy" West, Jr., age 72 of Bemis, will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith & Sons, with Dr. John Adams and Bro. John Norville officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Mr. West passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Jackson General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

He was born in Louisville, KY on June 21, 1940 to the late Aaron Thomas, Sr. and Edna Mae Beckham West. He has been a member of Bemis First Baptist Church for nearly 40 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Mary Nell Coates West of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Rhonda Evans (Danny) of Jackson, TN; step daughter, Angela Howell and stepson, Phillip Brown; granddaughter, Karen Wiggins (Jackie); step grandchildren, Amanda & Jana Brown; three great-grandchildren, Patene, Kaylee and Devin; sisters, Linda Benthol, Kim Mitchell and Peggy Hamilton, all of Jackson, TN; and two brothers, Larry West of Jackson and Earl West of Nashville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lela Majoria West in May of 2003.
