Anita was born on May 24, 1925 in Deanburg to the late Fred Vance Hopper and Zula Cook Hopper. When she was born, her brother, Herschel couldn't pronounce Anita so when he went to school he told everyone they had a "new baby" and that stuck. Most of her life, she was called New Baby Hopper.
Anita was a homemaker while her children were young and afterward she worked for Ramona's Beauty Shop in Henderson as a beauty operator and as a seamstress for Park's Belk in Jackson. She was a life-long member of Pleasant Springs Methodist Church, FCE Home Demonstration Club, and the Deanburg Community Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lavern Fish; her son, Freddie Thomas Fish; and three siblings, Lillian Hopper, Jessie Hopper, and Herschel Hopper.
Anita is survived by her children, Brenda Fish Collins, Jimmy Fish, Sr. (Diane), and Cora Fish Talbott (Dale Rose); her daughter in law, Cindy Fish; nine grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was so proud to have five generations of her family.
