She was born on June 29, 1928 in Bemis, TN to the late Richard Ivan and Doshia Estelle Mitchell Hampton. Bea was a longtime resident of the Bemis Community and a member of Bemis United Methodist Church.
She was the first employee of American Olean Tile in Jackson, TN and retired after 25 years of service. Bea loved her church, writing, cats, and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Charles “Ricky” Brownlow.
She is survived by her husband, Luther (LM) Moody; three daughters, Susan Ragan (Murray), Debbie Wyatt (Jerry), and Bonita Cain; one son, Russell Moody; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Inez Dyer; and a special niece, Coleen Justiss.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
Visitation will resume on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 12-1 p.m., one hour prior to the service.
The funeral service is to be conducted on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Sharon Karamoko and Rev. Walter German officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
