

He was born in Mt. Pleasant, TN on March 20, 1945, and was the son of the late Bennie and Jimmie Odom Logue. He graduated from Hay Long High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1967 during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Columbia State Community College in 1972 and received his business administration degree from MTSU in 1974. He retired from Roadway Express as a supervisor in 2003 after working there 25 years.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jacqueline Duncan Logue, and son, Nicholas Wayne Logue. He leaves behind a brother, David Logue (Judy) of Hendersonville, TN; a brother-in-law, Terry Duncan (Pam) of Franklin, TN; two nieces, Laura Logue Poteet (Anthony) and Taryn Duncan Hickey (Tim); two nephews, David Logue Jr. (Sloane) and Adam Duncan (Sarah); three great-nephews, Duncan and Miller Hickey and Clayton Poteet; and two great-nieces, Camilla Poteet and Collins Hickey.
Wayne was an active member of West Jackson Baptist Church for many years, where he served as a Deacon, was co-chairman of the Welcome Center, was co-chairman of the Security Ministry, and was a member of the Disaster Relief Ministry. He attended a mission trip in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He loved to fish, loved UT Vols sports, loved the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
There will be a visitation at George A. Smith North at a later date. There will also be a visitation at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home in Columbia, TN, with graveside services at Polk Memorial Gardens with Maurice Hollingsworth officiating at a later date.
The family requests memorials be directed to Wayne’s favorite charities, The National MS Society and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
