Betty Jean Coleman Baker

Betty was born January 15, 1946 in Union City, TN to the late John Elliot and Ruby Carlene Leath Coleman. She was united in marriage to the late Thomas Ward Baker and he preceded her in death in 2007. They were married for forty five years. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a former member of Reelfoot Baptist Church in Union City, TN.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruby L. (Coleman) Prince.

She is survived by her two children, Debbie Sanders of Jackson,TN and Tommy Baker (Vishnu Ajay) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Casey Sanders of Jackson and Stephanie Sanders (Jeff Adkins) of Collierville, TN; great grandchild, Gage Thomas of Collierville; brother, John E. “Sonny” Coleman of Martin, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Jerry Welch, Pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers to serve will be Kerry Davis, Kenneth Prince, Phillip Reed, Scott Coleman, Sandy Coleman, and Keith Coleman.
