

Billy Eugene Parson, 72, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Joyce (Wilson) Parson; his son, Todd Parson and his wife Kim; his daughter, Tracy Day; his brothers, Don, Ottis, and J.R. Parson; his sisters, Juanita Sheriff and Mattie Lou Cooper; his grandchildren, Kayla Lorenz and her husband Shane, Josh Day and his wife Jasmin, Lukas Parson, Hunter Whalen and her husband Chris, Noah Parson, Breanna Parson, and Isabella Parson; his great-grandson, Judson Day; and many close friends and relatives.
Born and raised in London, KY, the son of Luther and Sarah (Garland) Parson. He moved to Calhoun, KY in 1960 where he met his wife. He played basketball at Calhoun High School, where he graduated in 1961. He and his wife, Joyce Parson, married December 21, 1961. He went on to play basketball at the collegiate level at Western Kentucky University, where he graduated in 1965.
After college he went on to pursue many careers until he realized his calling as a businessman. He was a hard-working man who established his own business that he not only took pride in, but he also truly relished the friends he made during his ownership of a business.
He attended Covenant Community Church in Madisonville, KY during his years of living there. He currently attends His House Ministries in Mayfield, KY where he was an active member. He enjoyed spending his time on the water and you could always find him with a fishing pole in his hand. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
A memorial service for the celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Covenant Community Church in Madisonville, KY. Contributions can be sent to the Church at 1055 N Main St # 9, Madisonville, KY 42431.
