She was the beloved daughter of the late Former State Senator James Eugene Stewart and Katherine Wilkes Stewart.
Those who knew Carole remember her drive, talent, and lifelong love for the outdoors. In her youth, she was a gifted equestrian, taking home countless trophies showing Tennessee Walking Horses. As the years went on, she traded the arena for the green, becoming an avid golfer whose skill and dedication led her to win many tournaments.
Carole earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Lambuth University and went on to complete a Master of Fine Arts degree at Central Michigan University. She enjoyed a distinguished professional career, working for over 20 years as a Medical Technologist in Jackson and Nashville. In 1979, Carole returned to Jackson, where she served as an Assistant Administrator at Jackson Specialty Hospital. Later, from 1986 to 2006, she was co-owner of Party Mart Liquors & Wines, Inc. alongside her brother, Robert.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, James Eugene Stewart and Katherine Wilkes Stewart, and her brothers, Robert and Jimmy.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lisa Fail Stewart; her nephew, Robert Kristopher Stewart and his wife, Kala; her niece, Alana Stewart Harrington and her husband, Ben; and her grand-nephew, Theodore Robert Harrington.
Carole’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all those at Brookdale Assisted Living and Hospice of West Tennessee who cared for and supported Carole along the way. You are truly angels on this earth, and your kindness, compassion, and loving care will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carole’s honor to First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.
