Catherine Virginia Carter

Funeral services for Catherine Virginia Carter age 84 will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5th at Oakfield Baptist Church with Rev. Kim North and Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Carter the widow of the late Ernie R. Carter passed away Monday, April 2nd at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Madison County, Tennessee on April 22, 1927 the daughter of the late Luther and Minnie Jaquet Reams and was a retired employee of Porter Cable. Mrs. Carter was an active and lifelong member of the Oakfield Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school for some 50 years plus.

She is survived by three sons, Rickie (Anne) Carter of Jackson, Michael L. (Jovita) Carter of Muscle Shoals, AL; and Keith Carter of Jackson. One sister, Ruth (Jim) Kinney of Biggersville, MS; and one brother, Nelson (Wilma) Reams of Russiaville, IN; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Other than her parents and her husband, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Hershel Reams.

Memorials may be directed to the Oakfield Baptist Church.

Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, April 4th from 5: p.m. until 9: p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday, April 5th from 10: a.m. until the service time at the church.
