I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Kyle most of my life as I have been best friends with his daughter Deborah for nearly 50 yrs. With that came the perks of having many delicious Sunday dinners with the family. Mrs. Kyle ( Maxine ) is an excellent cook. I was blessed to be welcomed in to their home and enjoyed what time I got to spend with Mr. Kyle. One memory I have is when he put his arm around me and whispered " Be Kind To Yourself" A sentiment he passed on to many others. What an exceptional man he was. Rest on high Mr. Kyle. You will be missed. Prayers for the family and friend of this wonderful man.

Chief Kyle was my first and only Fire Chief in the AF but his influence on my life extends to today. Arriving at Blytheville AFB in January of 1976, Chief Kyle was one of the first I met at the fire station and there was no doubt he was in charge. Those that were assigned to mentor and train this 18-year-old, did so, in part, because of the leadership of Chief Kyle. Fast forward to 2011 when I was re-introduced to "OB" at a BAFB/EAFB FD reunion and had no idea who he was. Why? Because I only knew him as "Chief." I had no need to know his first name and never, in all the years we would meet again at a reunion, address him as OB. Throughout my 22 years in the AF, there are only a handful of people who I still address by their rank, and not their name.... Chief Kyle was one of them. He will be missed, but he influenced many-many of us when we were young...and dumb. Rest in Peace Chief, we have it from here.

O B was more that a brother-in-law, he was my Brother. He married Maxine when I was 3 years old. Through my time growing up, they were stationed at many bases, but when I became 18, mom and dad let me travel by Train to Spokane, Washington, where my precious Sheila was born on my 18th Birthday! I loved my time spent with them. Since Maxine was full term with Sheila, I got to be OB’s date to some of his events. HE took me to my First ever concert - The Every Brothers in Spokane. I loved him dearly and always will. He and Maxine have Always been very Special in my life.

Chief Kyle was my first FD Chief I got to Blytheville AFB in 84-85. I remember he would bring in and cook rabbit with biscuits and gravy all the time, good man may we meet again one day.
