Clyde Earl Whitmore

Mr. Whitmore was born September 15, 1934 in Madison County, TN to the late Jessie Franklin and Eva Hathway Whitmore. He was a native of Madison County but has lived in Martin, TN for the last 35 years. He was a retired truck driver. He was Baptist in faith and was a member of Adams Chapel Baptist Church in Martin.

Mr. Whitmore is survived by his wife, Shirley Whitmore of Martin, TN; three daughters, Diana Strong (Wally), Patricia Smith (Jeff), and Angela Glisson all of Jackson; three sons, Clyde Whitmore (Patsy) of Jackson, Jesse Whitmore (Liz) of South Fulton, TN and Wayne McDonald (Andrea) of Martin, TN; 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Case of Jackson, TN and Cordie Essary of Martin, TN; and six nieces.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitmore was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Alexander and Frankie Turner; and a daughter, Melissa Horne.

Funeral services for Mr. Whitmore will be conducted on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, June 7, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
