Connie was blessed with a beautiful daughter, who was the pride and joy of her life.
At an early age, Connie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life and enjoyed attending church, where she found comfort, fellowship, and friendship among fellow believers.
Connie was employed at the MHDS Garland Workshop until its closure. During her years there, she developed many meaningful friendships and touched the lives of countless people. She was known for her loving, outgoing personality that naturally drew others to her. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Connie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved her baby dolls, cherished her dogs, and enjoyed watching western movies and television shows. She also treasured her stuffed companion animals, which brought her comfort each night. Her favorite was a white stuffed dog affectionately named “Oreo.”
On September 23, 2026, Connie peacefully departed this life at the age of 70 while surrounded by her devoted and caring caregivers. For the past 22 years, Connie had made her home with Madison Haywood Developmental Services (MHDS). The staff at MHDS became an extension of her family, playing a significant role in her well-being and caring for her with compassion, dignity, and love throughout her life.
Connie leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, her many friends, and the dedicated MHDS staff who loved and cared for her through the years.
Though Connie’s presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, friendship, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A service to celebrate the life of Connie Cooper will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. A private burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
