David was born on June 4, 1974 in Jackson, TN to Dr. Sterling Ruffin Craig, Sr. and Virginia Pentecost Craig. He was a 1992 graduate of University School of Jackson and received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Mississippi. David was a Financial Analyst at First Bank in Jackson and managed his entire career in the Banking industry.
On June 5, 1999 David married his true soulmate, longtime high school and college love of his life, Jennifer Kay Cooke. From the start, David and Jennifer never passed an opportunity for great adventures together, which always led to places, concerts, meals, and road trip memories that most people simply never take the chance to experience. Then, David's greatest adventures truly started with the births of his daughters Madeline and Hayden. He wanted nothing more than to see his girls experience everything they could... and they did it all together. From hilarious home videos, to competitive tennis matches, to simple meals made for friends and family, and many vacation trips far and near... he supported them with encouragement and laughter through them all. He loved his girls.
Aside from being a loving Husband and Father, David was an amazing home chef, an avid fisherman, a calming spirit, and a lover of good times.
David had one of the kindest and gentlest hearts we'll ever know, and he found great pleasure in pleasing others. To Jennifer, Madeline, Hayden, and so many close friends, David was the nurturer... and he was great at it.
David is survived by his wife of nearly 23 years, Jennifer Cooke Craig; daughters Madeline Cullen Craig (16) and Hayden Elise Craig (14); his parents Virginia and Sterling Ruffin Craig, Sr. of Jackson, TN; his brother Sterling Ruffin Craig, Jr. (Heather) of Brentwood, TN and their children Sterling, Ella, and Olivia; his sister Ginny Lee Allen (Frankie) of Nesbit, MS; his in-laws Kay and Steve Cooke of Jackson, TN; his in-law Lucille Cullen of Jackson, TN; his in-laws Sarah and Chad Shankle and their children Harrison and Graham of Jackson, TN.
David Scott Craig will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. We're all better for knowing him.
