She is survived by daughters Kathy Hopper and husband Mark, Nancy Nanney and husband John; and grandchildren Kelly Hopper Medling and husband Brandon, Allison Hopper Chewning and husband Brandon, Will Nanney and wife Lindsey, and Jake Nanney; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind very special nieces and nephews.
Dorothy shared 63 years of love and devotion with her late husband, Arnold Rivers.
She was a talented singer, pianist and organist, as well as a fierce and sneaky card player. She loved to take care of her yard and flower beds, spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and make her famous chex mix and cheese straws along with other delicious treats. Dorothy had a special relationship with her fellow members of Meridian Baptist Church, where she and Arnold attended for over 30 years.
The family celebrated her life in a private service on Sunday
