She was shown so much love and respect by all of the Grace staff making her last years among the best.
Funeral services for Edna Kellim, 94, will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the 3 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A.Smith and Sons with interment following in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Edna was born May 18, 1924 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to Henry Manden Cox and Pearl Eva Maple Cox Shepherd.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Gale O’Day Kellim. In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was preceded in death by her brothers: Riley Cox, Howard Cox, Arthur Cox, and Marvin Cox. Also preceding her was her step-father, Silas Shepherd. Edna is survived by loving daughters Kathy Gail Kellim Barnett (Rickey) of Franklin, Tennessee
and Carol Kellim Archuleta (Donnie) of Anderson, South Carolina. She also leaves grandchilden Benjamin Kellim Barnett, Franklin,Tennessee; Allison Whitney Barnett May (Jamin Seth May) of Hermitage, Tennessee; Justin Michael Sykes (Brooklyn Edwards Sykes); John Thomas Sykes (Bailey Staggs Sykes) and infant great grandson, Jaxon Thomas Sykes; all of Jackson, Tennessee.
Also survived by sister-in-law Edna Crider of Delaplaine, Arkansas, and special, dear friend Sandra Edmondson of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
Mrs. Kellim moved to Jackson, TN in 1964 with her husband and children, after living in Sullivan, Illinois; Peach Orchard, Walnut Ridge, and Blytheville, Arkansas; and Caruthersville, Missouri. She was a long-time member of West Jackson Baptist Church, Jackson, Tennessee having joined in 1964 when she moved to Jackson.
She loved her family and friends, playing extraordinary bridge, progressive rummy, embroidery, sewing and cooking. She had a special way of making holidays and special occasions memorable. Her personality filled a room and all present knew Edna Kellim had arrived. Her passing will be felt by many.
Pallbearers are grandchildren Ben Barnett, Allison May, Justin Sykes and John Sykes; with Terry Sykes and Seth May.
