She was born on September 3, 1978, to Frankie and Bobbie King and would become the older sister to Amanda two and half years later. Her father proceeded Emily in death and surely greeted her upon her arrival along with Emily’s first love Chad Blankenship (d. 2012).
Emily leaves behind her biggest reasons for fighting her three children, Garrett and Gracelyn Blankenship and Luke Massey, her loving husband, Wesley Freeman and his sons Houston and Harrison. Her sister Amanda and brother-in-law Chris Rich will miss her dearly. Her nieces and nephew, who she adored, Hannah, Allie, and Frankie Rich and Shelby and Valerie Blankenship, will remember their Mimi as their Tennessee Vols loving aunt who was always ready to try the next pickle flavored food.
Emily, a 1996 graduate of Southside High School, received her BS in Information Systems Management from the University of Memphis and went on to receive her MBA from Union University. Her education, fierce determination, and strong work ethic paved the way for a successful career with UGN, where she made significant impact over her 20 years.
In addition to her immediate family, Emily is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that have been blessed with her loving spirit and warm humor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kirkland Cancer Center in honor of Emily.
Pallbearers to serve will be Garrett Blankenship, Chris Blankenship, Chris Rich, Frankie Rich, Josh Pickard, Keith McIntyre. Honorary Pallbearers will be Luke Massey, Darryl Ross, and Billy Glenn Wyatt.
