He was born on October 31, 1946 in Jackson, TN to the late Sidney and Edith Laverne Tidwell Boren.
Ernie is survived by his son, Trent Boren of Jackson; his soul-mate and mother of his only son, Janice Boren of Jackson; sisters, Annie L. Pierce (Richard) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Susan Gill of Lexington, KY; and two brothers, Larry Boren (Barbara) and Robert Boren (Judy) both of Jackson.
Ernie served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He earned several medals, including the Purple Heart and the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars.
He retired from BellSouth in 2002 with 33 years of service.
Ernie was an avid deer hunter here in Tennessee and also loved going to Colorado to hunt elk. After his retirement, he regained his love for two wheels and traveled a lot of the countryside on his Harley attending rallies in many states. He made many dear and lasting friendships while at these rallies.
A celebration of Ernie’s life will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. at VFW Post 1848, 3803 N. Highland Ave., Jackson, TN 38305.
