Herron Pearson Morris

He was born July 28, 1934 in Jackson, Tennessee to William H. Morris Sr. and Rosaland Gooch Morris. He graduated from Jackson High School and attended Union University and The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He went on to serve in the US Navy as a diver and was always proud of his service.

He had a long and successful career in sales at Gooch-Edenton Hardware to several flooring companies in Memphis. He also worked part time for George A. Smith and Sons and really enjoyed his time there.

He was married to the love of his life, Betty Nunn Morris, in April 1962. They were married for fifty-three years until her death in 2015.

He was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church in Jackson and was always active in his service roles there.

Mr. Morris is survived by his only child, Dick Morris and his wife Susan, his grandchildren, Elliott and Sarah-Cabot Morris, his sister in law, Mrs. W. H. Morris Jr. (Nancy), and his nephew and niece, Bob Morris and Mary Morris Johnson.

There will be a graveside service at Hollywood Cemetery on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 10:00.

The family asks that any memorials go to First United Methodist Church in Jackson, Tennessee.
