James Edward “Jimmy” Blacknall, age 72, passed away on July 8, 2018 at his home in Spring Creek, TN. He was born on January 17, 1946 in Jackson to the late J. Neal and Marjorie Blacknall. Jimmy served his country in the United States Navy. He is surivived by his wife, Barbara Gayle Blacknall; sister, Ann Keel (Ricky); stepsons, John Oakley (Holly) and Shawn Oakley (Candance); sisters-in-law, Cathy Emerson (Don) and Glenda Haney (Keith); nephews, Brooks Keel (Ashly), Benjamin Keel (Leigh Ann), and Michael Emerson (Angie); nieces, Grace, Margaret, Mary, and Sarah Keel, Julie Ross, Stacie Johnson (Dan), and Amy Case (Charlie); two grandchildren, Sayle Tidwell and Tatum Tidwell; son, Greg Blacknall (Susan); daughter, Kelly Tidwell (Chad); and special friend, Brandy Austin. Mr. Blacknall was preceded in death by his brother, John Blacknall; stepson, Nicholas Neely; nephews, Kevin Keel; and mother and father in law, Gracie and Ray Bullock. The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018, from 1:30 – 3:30 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. at Beech Bluff Cemetery with Rev. Leon White officiating. Pallbearers to serve will be family and friends.

I have known Jimmy since high school at Jackson High. He was such a fun person to be around. It has been many years since we have seen him and I hated to hear of his passing.
