Jim was born on February 3, 1939 in Humboldt, TN to J.C. and Patty K. Youmans. He graduated from Humboldt High School and went on to graduate from Freed-Hardeman University. After college, Jim attended UT Dental school and specialized in Orthodontics. He and his wife, Carolyn, then moved to Jackson, TN where he practiced and helped establish FMY Orthodontics and also treating those with TMJ problems. Jim had a passion for reading, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Walden Youmans.
He is survived by his children, Sarah Youmans Pucek (Kelly) of Jackson and James Wilson Youmans, Jr. (Tracey) of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandchildren, Will Pucek, Betha Pucek, Trey Youmans, and Seth Youmans. He is also survived by his brother in law, John Walden (Patricia).
The family will have a private service.
