

Jean Scott passed away on the morning of May 24, 2015 from a tragic accident at her home. Jean was born in Camden, TX on June 7, 1931 and lived a graceful 83 years old. She was the daughter of Katie Katherine Treadway and Governer Bailey Treadway.She met her husband William "Bill" Scott in Livingston, TX in May 1948. They were married on October 29, 1949. In July, 1958, their son Larry Keith Scott was born and her life was filled with family love and the desire to make a wonderful life for her son and husband.Jean Scott had four siblings, Marie Treadway Lewis, Guy Treadway, Doris Treadway Terry, and one surviving brother G.B. Treadway of Diboll, TX and his wife Joyce Treadway.Jean is survived by a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews, family members, and friends, all who held her in high esteem and close in their hearts. Her church family at Northside Assembly in Jackson, TN was very important to her and she was very close with the congregation.Jean and her family provided yearly Christmas gifts to all the residents at Maplewood Nursing Home in Jackson, TN and they all loved her and looked forward to her visits. Jeans career was in real estate, jewelry sales, and modeling for a time in her younger days. She was beautiful both inside and out and always carried herself with grace and beauty.Jean had a parakeet she named "Baby" that she doted on and cared for, who lived a blessed life in her care and survives her. Jean was a generous and loving person who was held in high esteem by anyone who was blessed to have known her. She helped care for her sisters, her uncle and so many folks in need, some who just knocked on her door asking for help. She was slow to judge people and fast to forgive those who wronged her.The Earth will have lost a valuable citizen but the Heavens above must be rejoicing at the arrival of the new beautiful spirit that has arrived.Jean's journey was one of value and she honestly left the world a much better place by being here. Her voice, her beauty and her unconditional love will be missed and those who loved her will look forward to seeing her again one day in Heaven.Funeral services for Jean will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 3 p.m. from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m., two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Jean will be interred in the Garden of Memories in Lufkin, TX.George A.
