Jewell Maxey Richardson

Mrs. Richardson was born January 21, 1914 in Centre Ridge, AR to the late Charlie and Leona Lewis Maxey. She married Rev. D.K. Richardson on November 8, 1936 in Russellville, AR. She and Rev. D.K. Lived in numerous states throughout there 51 years of marriage.

She is survived by a son, Scott Richardson and wife Sandy Miller Richardson of Iuka, MS; five grandchidren, Karen Wooten Iacobucci (Frank), Kristin Wooten Walker (John), Katie Wooten Bielski (John), Elizabeth Wooten (Fiance, Brian) all of Westchester, PA and JoAnne Richardson of Nashville, TN; eight great grandchildren, Kristin, Carol, Madeline, CeCie, Morgan, August, Nora, Tripp and Alice; one great great granddaughter, Maddie; five nieces, two nephews, and one special grandpuppy, Gabby Wabby Richardson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Rev. D.K. Richardson; daughter, JoAnne Richardson Wooten; grandson, Scott Maxey Richardson, Jr.; three brothers, Carl, Guy and Ralph Maxey; two sisters, Jessie Poe and Gladys Holloway.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 11, 2012 beginning at 12 noon until 2 p.m. at George A. Smith & Sons North Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at George A. Smith & Sons North Chapel with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to express their gratitude and tremendous appreciation to the Country Cottage Staff, especially Nurse Peggy (Carolyn Davis) and Legacy Hospice.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1730 Highway 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305 or Fairview Community Church, 25 County Road 356, Iuka, MS 38852.
