Jimmy Joe Stewart

Born on November 3, 1935, in Nutbush, Tennessee, Jimmy was the son of the late Frank B. Stewart and Mary Morris Stewart.

Jimmy found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors, especially tending to his garden and keeping his lawn meticulously maintained. He loved watching sports on TV and also enjoyed watching classic westerns.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his children, Sandra Hutcherson (Ricky), Tammy Stonehocker (Merlyn), and Jimmy Joe Stewart, Jr.

He was a proud grandfather to Dustin Dinkins (Chastity), Jennifer Brantley (Will), Ricky Hutcherson (Kristina), and Jeffery Murchison (Brittany).

Jimmy was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Jason Dinkins, Riley Murchison, Wyatt Diffee, Ty Diffee, Kaydee Diffee, Harlee Brantley, Tate Hutcherson, and Hattie Hutcherson; and one great-great-grandchild, Emerson Dinkins.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Jimmy's life will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Springs Cemetery near Mercer.

Jimmy will be remembered for his love of family, his strong work ethic, and the quiet enjoyment he found in the outdoors and the things he loved most.
