

Judy was born Aug. 16, 1946 in Sylacauga, AL to Maie and Hulett Lane. She graduated with honors from Lambuth College in 1968 and married Ron that year. Judy loved books and poetry and served the community as a librarian for many years. She co-founded the Shannon Street Blues Fest and was a master gardener, writer, and talented artist.
Judy is survived by husband Ron Pennel, children Emily Pennel and Carrie (Ty) Prewitt, sister Nancy (Richard) Hawks, grandchildren William and Caroline Prewitt, niece Elizabeth (Brock) Livingston, nephews Jake Lane and Travis Williams, Jake’s mother Charlotte, great-niece Ruth Livingston, and former son-in-law John Yarbrough. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charlie Lane, and nephew Joseph Hawks.
All are welcome to celebrate Judy’s life at the R.E. Womack Memorial Chapel at Lambuth College on May 22 at 2:00.
