She retired as an Administrative Assistant to the director at the Jackson-Madison County Library for 20 years. She spent most of her adult life as a homemaker, following her husband to various duty stations in the United States and Guam in his career in the U.S. Navy. Her late husband, J.A. Davidson, surrendered to the Gospel ministry and moved the family to Jackson, TN to attend Union University to further his education. She fully supported his calling and served as a pastor’s wife at his churches.
She is survived by two sons, Dan Davidson (Brenda) of Houston, TX and Jim Davidson (Betsy) of Brownsville, TN and one daughter, Brenda Ramsey-Page (Benny) of Jackson, TN; eight grandchildren, Danna White (Alex) of Houston, TX, Wendy Feild (Mark) of Birmingham, AL, Anna Ramsey of Longmont, CO, Dow Davidson (Jennifer) of Birmingham, AL, David Ramsey (Keli) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Lance Davidson (Angie) of Knoxville, TN, Evan Davidson (Kelsey) of North Augusta, SC; Jason Page of Jackson, TN.; great-grandchildren, Kendall Feild, Jude Davidson, Eliza Feild, Avery Ramsey, Chapel Davidson, Giffin Davidson, Andrew Ramsey, Edie White, Beckett Davidson, Merritt Davidson, Lang Davidson and Evan Page. She is also survived by a special, longtime friend, Alvin Lay.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Rev. J.A. “Dave” Davidson; her parents, Henry Dow and Viola Mae Jones Derryberry; her siblings, Clarence Derryberry, Beryl Derryberry, Kenneth Derryberry, Eldred Derryberry, Virgie Summers and Inez Davis; a daughter-in-law, Linda Bishop Davidson and son-in-law, Newman Ramsey.
She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was very active in all of the churches of which she was a member during her lifetime. Her greatest joy was being with her family and friends, including many life time friends from the Navy days.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 2:00 at Calvary Baptist Church for family members only. The service will be live streamed through George A.
