He was born in Bemis, TN in 1930, married in 1953 and enjoyed more than 60 years as a husband, father and grandfather. He has lived in Cumming, GA for the past several years with his wife, Oshanniar “Shanna” Hamilton and his two children, Toni and Clay Hamilton. He is survived by one brother, Ronald “Budgie” Hamilton (Peggy) of Jackson. He and Shanna have three grandchildren: Michelle, Ben and Lacy Hamilton, also in GA.
His parents, Henry and Lillian Hamilton, preceded him in death as did his other siblings: Grady Hamilton, Sr., and Mrs. James (Bernice) Norvell. His wife, Shanna, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2018.
KC worked for the Western Electric Company for 40 years. He and Shanna settled back in Jackson after his retirement and spent many happy hours with their family and friends. They were active members of West Jackson Baptist Church since 1962, where he served as a deacon and teacher in the two-year old department. He felt very privileged as a deacon to visit the sick and elderly on behalf of the church.
In addition, he enjoyed restoring and repairing anything broken as well as drawing, painting, raising flowers and watching birds. Until Shanna’s health began to limit their activities, they spent most of their time together helping their family and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of George A. Smith & Sons Funeral Home. His service will be conducted by his nephew, Rev. Kevin Hamilton, at the North Chapel on Wednesday, March 14 at 1 pm followed by burial at Highland Memorial Gardens. His family will receive guests from 12-1 pm at the North Chapel.
