

Lois Waldon Tims, age 77, went to meet her Lord on January 14, 2012 at Maplewood Nursing Home after a long illness. She is survived by devoted daughters, Ramona Faye Tims and Lori Ann Tims, both from Jackson; brothers, Phillip Martin Waldon (Linda) of Jackson and Buford David Waldon of Savannah; nieces, Angie Waldon Byers of Jackson and Rhonda Waldon of Florida; as well as many more family and friends.
Mrs. Tims was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, W.L. (Sonny) Tims; a daughter, Glori Jean Tims; her parents, Janie Cheatwood Waldon and Phillip Benjamin Waldon; and a nephew Phillip (Marty) Waldon.
Mrs. Tims was born in Tippah County, MS., and moved to Tennesse when she was a teenager. She was a faithful and loving member of Meridian Baptist Church and the Sanctuary Sunday School Class. She loved her Maplewood family including Autumn, Janell, Miranda, Chasity, Nikki, Gloria, Gwen, Tonya, and Mary. She was a wonderful mother, loving sister, devoted daughter, faithful Christain and encouraging friend. Mrs. Tims loved and was loved dearly by her many family and friends. Although she never attained fortune or fame, her presence made life richer for all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel on Monday, January 16, 2012, from 5-8 pm and will resume on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from noon until the funeral service at 2 pm at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Dr. Ronnie Wilburn and Bro. Curtis Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow at New Union Cemetery in Hardeman County.
