Inez was born July 16, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama to Clifford and Millie Schmitt. The family soon relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee. While working at Chattanooga Glass Company, she met John Carlock who she married on November 19, 1949. In 1961, John and Inez left Chattanooga and moved with their two daughters, Beth and Nan, to Corsicana, Texas. In Corsicana, John continued to work for Chattanooga Glass Company and Inez was busy with Camp Fire Girls and Cheerleading while working as the Society Editor of the Corsicana Daily Sun. After retirement, John and Inez moved back to their native Tennessee and settled in Jackson.
Inez is survived by daughters, Beth Baddour of Jackson and Nan Bishop of Dallas, Texas; grandsons, Sam Baddour of Nashville and Dr. Michael Baddour and his wife Katie of Atlanta, Georgia and their children, Hunter and South.
She is preceded in death by John, her loving husband of 61 years, her parents; son, John Edwin Carlock, Jr. and her son-in-law, Dr. Harry Baddour.
Inez was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. The family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided by Dr. Wayne Rhear and the wonderful staff at Bells Nursing Home.
The funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m., January 14, 2017 at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. before the service.
Entombment will take place at the Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum following the service.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church or St. Mary’s School in Jackson, TN or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
