Margie Helen Johnson

She was born on August 31, 1935, in Jackson, TN to the late Manley (Si) and Olena Vinson.

Margie graduated from Jackson High School in 1953. She was a retired LPN from Jackson Madison County General Hospital where she worked 3W for 15 years. She was a lifelong member of West Jackson Baptist Church where she served in a 5-year-old Sunday school class for 50 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L’Wick Overton Johnson, Jr. (Sonny), daughter, Helen Riggs, son-in-law, Bill Kiddie, brothers, Bobby and Harry Vinson.

She is survived by her children, Katherine Coats (Eric) of Jackson and Karen Kiddie (Bill), grandchildren, Jennifer Covellis (Chris), Cain Turner (Amanada), Jala Galloway, Bethany Anthony (Matt), great grandchildren, Benjamin and Caroline Covellis, Cason Galloway, Wyatt and Wilkes Anthony.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Alan Teel officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
