She was born on November 10, 1930 in Madison County, to Frank and Kathleen Turner. She was married to the late Charles A. Graves for 62 years. She was a nurse at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital for 19 years and a member of Westover Baptist Church where she was a substitute pianist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Graves; three sons, Mike Graves, Roddy Graves, and Terry Graves, one daughter in law Debbie Graves; one grandson, Shane Barnes; her parents, Frank and Kathleen Turner; one sister, Laverne Poole; two brothers, J.W. Turner and Frank Turner, Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Gina Roberts (David) of Lexington; a very special ex daughter-in-law, Ernie “Dee” Fry; brother, Garland Turner of North Carolina; Grandchildren, Deena Maness (Randy), Laurie Jones (Jesse), Tina Barnes Harden (Chris), Angela Graves (Angel), Gina Laster (Hec), Heather Newman (Russell), Terry Graves, Jr., Jennifer Gooch (Kris), Chris Thornton and Erik Graves; great grandchildren, Jay Maness (Brandi), Tim Maness (Walker), Jessica Sanders (Michael), Katie Jones, Zach Webster, Allie Webster, Tyler Youmans, Dillon Ruiz, Katelyn and Allison Steele, Kylie Laster, Brooklyn and Lexie Newman, Brianna Graves Ramsey, Liam Graves, Jayla Ramsey, Reece Gooch, Haley Thornton, and Tyler Peeler; great great grandchildren, McKenzie Jo Maness, Emily Maness, Braelynn Roach, and Bentley and Chandler Sanders.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
The funeral service is to be conducted on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Bill Luther officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The Granddaughters Deena Graves Maness,Laurie Graves Jones, Tina Barnes Harden, Angela Graves, Gina Graves Laster, Heather Graves Newman will serve as pallbearers
