

Mary was born in 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Herbert and Frances Wahl. She was the first member of her family to attend college, earning a BA degree from Ursuline College on academic scholarship. She married her lifelong love, Bob in 1951, becoming a dedicated mother and housewife from that point. The Rooke Family moved to Humboldt in 1974 with the construction and opening of the Eaton Plant under Bob's direction. She and Bob were Humboldt residents and active members of the community until this year. Since Bob's passing in February of this year, she had been living close to children in Texas.
Mary is survived by daughters, Mary Ellen Krohn of Bowling Green, KY and Ruth Croghan of Louisville, KY; sons, Bob of Dallas, TX, Patrick of Atlanta, GA and John of Knoxville, TN; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Joan Corbett of Nevada and Norma Stenger of Ohio; brother, Bill Wahl of Ohio.
Services for Mary will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Humboldt on Monday, October 24, 2011. Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Visitation at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to the church for the services, but memorial donations to the United Way of West Tennessee may be considered as an alternative.
