Morris was born on September 23, 1952 in Milan, TN to Dorothy L. Gurley and the late Thomas Dixie Gurley. He was a trim carpenter by trade for many years and enjoyed song writing and playing guitar. On November 2, 1975 Morris was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a member of the Jackson Tennessee Congregation.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Cagle Gurley of Jackson; three children, Cynthia Ann Gurley, Jerrud Edwin Gurley (Teresa) and Troy Wesley Gurley; his mother, Dorothy Gurley; his siblings, Donna Lynn Johnson, Teena Gurley, and Tyson Gurley; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three nieces and three nephews.
A graveside service for Mr. Gurley will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
