She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda, her parents, Ralph and Alda Peterson, and her sister Alda Mae Peterson. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jim Davis, her children Bill, Patricia and Ralph, and grandchildren Lani and Kaitlyn.
Born and raised in Bridgeton, New Jersey, Pat attended the University of Delaware where she received her Bachelor's degree in Biology and met her husband. In addition to raising their children, Pat also worked in a local retail knitting craft store, The Knitting Nook, and became an expert knitting instructor for the Craft Yarn Council of America. In this capacity, she traveled across the United States teaching knitting to extension agents who, in turn, instructed the public. With her children having completed their schooling, Pat returned to school herself, earning a second Bachelor's degree in Business from Lambuth College. She was then employed as a tax preparer at the firm of H&R Block in their office at the Sears store at Old Hickory Mall. While at H&R Block, she achieved the status of an enrolled agent.
When not working, Pat enjoyed cooking, reading, playing with her grandchildren and traveling. She particularly enjoyed traveling to and exploring many of the nation's finest National Parks, accompanied on many occasions by her sister, Alda Mae. The photographs, books, and t-shirts collected on these trips were a source of great satisfaction and enjoyment for her.
In spite of great physical challenges in her last years of life caused by several serious medical conditions, Pat's bravery and determination to live life on her terms was a source of inspiration to her family. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family.
Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton, NJ.
