Ralph S. Lewis Jr.

Ralph was born on January 1, 1929 in Mercer, TN to the late Ralph, Sr. "Papa" and Lillie Mae Arnold Lewis. He was a graduate of Mercer High School and the "Hatchie Bottom Academy." Ralph founded Lewis Bail Bonds in 1960 and the business still stands today. Ralph was also a founding member and long time president of the South Jackson Civitan Club and was in the PTA at Malesus and South Side High School. He was also a band booster at South Side.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Buckingham Lewis; a daughter, Diane Lewis Kennedy; and three siblings, James "Shug" Lewis, Frances Mae Boothe and Cecil Burlison.

He is survived by his four sons, Danny Lewis, David Lewis (Sandy), Daryl Lewis (Denise), and Jason Lewis (Jaime); grandchildren, Mitchell, Jeff, Stephanie, Dustin, Drew, Dustin, Jerica, D.J., Tanner, Carson, and Griffin; several great grandchildren; his brother, Bill Lewis (Betty); and a special friend, Patricia Collins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, March 9, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Interment will follow in Malesus-Ebenezer Cemetery.

Active pallbearers to serve will be Jerry Burks, Tanner Lewis, D.J. Lewis, Mitchell Lewis, Keith Foster, and Jeff Azbill.
