Ray was born on August 25, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana, to Ray Eberhart and Evelyn Grimes. He graduated from Penn High School in the Class of 1966. During his high school years, he formed a band where he developed his talents as a vocalist and guitarist. Shortly afterward, he began touring with the Riveras, filling in as lead guitarist and vocalist. A lifelong lover of music, Ray counted Elvis Presley among his greatest musical inspirations.
In 1967, Ray married the love of his life, Sharon Kay Sones, beginning a marriage that would span fifty-nine wonderful years. Soon after their marriage, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served two years overseas in Germany.
Ray devoted more than twenty-five years to Eberhart Steel Products in Mishawaka, Indiana, where he served as General Manager. He took great pride in his work and was deeply committed to the company and the people he worked alongside.
Outside of work, Ray cherished time on the water. An avid boater, he loved spending summers on Lake Michigan, proudly wearing his captain's hat while creating lasting memories with family and friends. After retiring, he and Sharon made their home in Tennessee, where he enjoyed a quieter life.
Above all, Ray was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his love of music, his strong work ethic, and the love he had for his family.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Sharon Eberhart; his daughters, Angela Eberhart and Michelle (Kenny) Centilli; and his brother, Bob (Theresa) Eberhart, and their daughter, Crystal.
He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
