Raymond O'Neal Miller age 91 died at his residence on January 2, 2020 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Bro. Bill Luther officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Miller was born on October 1, 1928 in Jackson TN to the late Olie and Gladys Miller.
Other than his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Nancy Harriett Miller, brothers; Charles Ray and Robert Earl Miller, and a daughter; Sherrell Ann Wright.
He is survived by his son; Richard O. Miller (Cindy), daughter; Sandy K. Richardson (Scott), son; Dale Miller (Nancy), five beloved grandchildren; Richie O. Miller (Judy), Jessica Campos, Cassy Culley (Jason), Breanna Francis (Clinton), Joshua Miller (Paige), JoAnne Richardson Bowen, five great grandchildren; Logan Miller, Knox, Tenley, and Nico Culley, Ada Francis, Tripp Bowen, Gracie, Spencer, Brianna and Bradley Mata. He is also survived by his brother; Paul Miller, and sisters; Delinda Mitchell and Elizabeth Miller.
Raymond worked for GMO Railroad and Conalco Consolidated Aluminum, where he retired. He served in the Navy on the Destroyer USS Brush and the USS Higbee. He was a member of Pyburn Union Church in the Pyburn community. "He loved the Lord, his family, and his country better than a hog loves slop".
Active Pallbearers to serve are Paul Miller Jr., Junior Spellings, Tony Sweeny, Jason Culley, Clinton Francis and Greg Baker. Honorary Pallbearers are; Mike Mitchell and Joshua Miller.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the South Chapel of George A. Smith & Sons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in honor of his great nephew Hayden Miller and/or Bemis Historical Society, 2 N. Missouri St, Jackson, TN 38301
