

Robert “Bob” Earl Heavner, Sr. went to meet his Master at his Heavenly Eternal Home on June 25, 2015 at 5:15 a.m. at the age of 73. Robert was born September 18, 1942 in the Beech Bluff, Tennessee (Liberty Claybrook Community). Robert fought a long illness, a rare form of cancer, for several years. He graduated from North Side High School in Jackson, TN in 1960. He lived in Brown’s Church Community then moved to Missoula, Montana in 1965. It was there where he made his home for over thirty years. He loved “out West” where he was the happiest in the mountains and deserts. He moved back to Jackson in 1995 where he lived with his Father in the Brown’s Church Community. Robert started his music career with the Larry Brinkley Combo at the age of 16 and had his own country band for 24 years, The Nashville Five. He played in various bands six nights a week and played music for 57 years. Robert’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ began in the early 90’s. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous celebrating sobriety for 29 years which he believed saved his life and by Grace through Faith led him to Jesus Christ. For 12 years he drove over the road until the Spring of 2007 and played in church bands. He was Church of God by Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Oakley Heavner and Etta Carlene “Whitworth” Heavner, Brothers: Frank O. Heavner, Jr., Richard O. Heavner and James “Hooty” Heavner of Jackson and one daughter Tammy Yoder Lazott Jennings.
He is survived by his children Rob Heavner, Jr. (Krista) and their children Anna Jo and Emily of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tim Yoder (Cynthia) of Montana, Terry Yoder of South Carolina, Tracy Yoder and partner (Debbie) of Colorado and by two step-children Jeremy Lancaster and Shelley Lancaster Cannioto (Stephano) of Memphis. Sisters: Ruth Anne Heavner, Sandra Heavner King, Carol Reynolds Glover (Bobby), Judy Heavner Deloach (Jerry), and Debbie Heavner Parker (Donnie) and Brothers: Carl Heavner (Bobbie), Jerry Heavner (Gayle), many Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Members of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and Leach Church of God, a special friend Bruce Fuss, Jan and Koke Kowan, Julie Bug and Chester Siler (Mary).
Pallbearers: Sandra King, Jason Patterson, Kim Patterson, Devin Johnson, Eddie Riddell, Jerry Deloach and Tommy Webb. Honorary Pallbearers – Randy and Ricky Heavner and all musicians.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to: Feed The Children or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
