Robert Samuel Hallay

Bob was born on July 4, 1949 in Chicago, IL to the late Alex and Delores Hallay. He served his country during the Vietnam War for two tours as a Marine in the USMC. While in the service, Bob received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Bob was very proud of his military service. He was also a life long catholic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Reba Hallay; grandson, Matthew Hill; great grandson, Ramon Cabrales; and three siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Kay Lake Hallay; his three children, Jim Hill (Heather), James Hallay, and Crystal Hallay; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The graveside service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 1:30 pm at the Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery at Parker's Crossroads. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
