Stanley Ray Bochenek
January 29, 1961 – May 7, 2018
Stanley Ray Bochenek, age 57 of Jackson, passed away suddenly on May 7, 2018 in Oxnard, California, where he was working.
He was born on January 29, 1961 in Chicago, IL, son of Patricia Jean Stovall Baker and Walter Stanley Bochenek. Stan attended school at Whitehall Elementary, Jackson Junior High, and was a 1979 graduate of Jackson-Central Merry High School. He attended college at U.T. Martin. In early years, Stan was a manager at McDonalds, worked for many years at Mullen Construction Company, and was presently employed by James M. Barb Construction Company. He was a member of Victory Worship Center in Jackson.
Stan was a man who loved his family devotedly and completely. He went above and beyond to provide for them and to show them that they were loved. Anyone who spent any time at all with Stan knew that he was totally devoted to all his family. His eyes lit up when talking about them, especially his grandchildren. His family was his life and he showed them how much they meant to him every time they were together. Stan was dependable and a very hard worker. His job required a great deal of travel for construction projects in many states. Being away from his family and friends so much was the only thing he didn’t like about his job. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping, and especially fishing when time allowed.
Stan adored his wife Suzanne, and their love and affection all was apparent to all around them. They loved spending time with their daughter, Amanda, and grandchildren, Ace and Finley. Their lives revolved around family and friends. There will never be another man like Stan. He was a unique, one-of-a-kind child of God. He loved with his whole heart and always gave 100% of himself to everything he did. The world is a better place because of the time he was here. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Many precious memories will live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones and many friends.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, Walter Stanley Bochenek; grandparents, Leroy and Eula Stovall and Stanley and Helen Bochenek; his father in law, Claude Vantreese; and his aunt, Hilda McCoy.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Vantreese Bochenek; daughter, Amanda Casey (Bobby); two grandchildren, Ace and Finley Casey all of Jackson; two brothers, Michael Bochenek (Debbie) and Chris Bochenek (Judy); his mother, Patricia Stovall Baker (George); mother in law, Linda Vantreese; two nieces, Mandy and Valarie; two aunts, Faye Bolding (Mike) and Vicki Winbush; one uncle, Walt Stovall (Sandy) and many cousins.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
The funeral service is to be conducted on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 12 Noon at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. John Patrick Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Stan’s memory be directed to the Victory Worship Center building fund or the American Heart Association.

My favorite memory of Stan the man as I called him some of the workers from work after we got together for a small reunion and went out to. Eat at a local restaurant Stan looked over at my husband and ask him we had celebrated our 50th anniversary Stan ask him what do you contribute. Your long marriage to and my husband looked at him and said you always say yes dear Suzanne looked at my husband as she was pleased with the answer . We all had a lot of fun moments . We consider each person family and Stan and Suzanne were family also so now our circle is broken. Suzanne has lost her soulmate and the love of her life Amanda has lost a father figure and those precious grandkids had lost Popsy. his mother had lost a son and Chris and Michael has lost his brother fellow fisherman. May God comfort th is family and wrap his loving arms around them and help them through this. We as friends have lost a dear friend and fellow christian. May we always remember this husband, father and grandfather, son, and brother. May we as Christians remember that he is away for a while we who are left behind to mourn have lost our brother in christ. RIP Stan the man. We will meet again some day on the otherside.
