Born in Nashville, TN, on June 29, 1947, with the kind of blue eyes that could light up the Tennessee sky, Suzy lived a life that was nothing short of a joyful gallop. Her vibrant spirit was as infectious as her love for the great outdoors. Suzy was the main event in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, leading troops with the same enthusiasm she brought to every aspect of her life. Her days were often spent at the family farm, with the horses she adored, and no day was complete without a fizzy pop of happiness—a cold Dr. Pepper-to celebrate the day's ride.
Suzy's journey through education saw her waving the banners of Jackson High School and Memphis State with pride before she embraced the noblest profession of all: homemaking. Her home was her castle, and she ruled it with love, laughter, and an iron skillet.
Her two sons, Joe, and John Patty were her knights in shining armor, and her granddaughters, Kylie and Regan, the princesses of her heart. She was greeted on the other side by her late husband, Joe R Patty Sr., who had no doubt prepared her favorite spot in the great beyond. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Milburn C. and Sivley Adams Jolly.
Suzy was a spirited member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. Her hobbies were no mere puzzle - horses, camping, RVing - they spelled out an adventurous soul who was always ready to piece together the next great family outing.
Suzy’s final curtain call is being orchestrated by the George A Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Suzy’s life at George A Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 2812 North Highland Ave., Jackson, TN, in the North Chapel, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 1 PM. It's sure to be a service that matches her sparkling spirit.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests donating to the Girl Scouts of America in Suzy's honor - let's keep her legacy of leadership and love for nature alive for the next generation of trailblazers.
Suzanne "Suzy" Jolly Patty: horse lover, puzzle-solver, and the best Dr. Pepper enthusiast there ever was. She's now riding the heavenly trails, and while she may be out of sight, she leaves hoofprints of love on our hearts.
