Terry Lee Slaughter

Terry was preceded in death by his Father Washington Lewis Slaughter, Mother, Jane Sanders Slaughter, Brother in law Ronnie Jordan (MaryJo Jordan) and father in law Jerry Dwain Jordan. He leaves behind, his wife of 45 years, Teresa Slaughter, they had two daughters, Jenna Slaughter Pierce (Brent) and Jordan Slaughter Howell (Dave). His life’s mission was to make sure Teresa and the girls were taken care of every day. His love for his girls was undeniable.

He is also survived by his brothers Mike Slaughter (Jean) and Myran Slaughter (Lindy), Brother in Law, Thomas Jordan, Mother in Law, Nancy Carolyn Jordan and five nieces, Andrea Crick Huckaba, Nikki Allmon, Beth Bland, Jami Pruitt, Rachel Thearp Vincent and one nephew Wesley Jordan.

Terry was a devoted employee with Henson Construction Services, Inc. since it began in 1993. He was Superintendent and Site Supervisor for many projects and loved his job and the people he was surrounded with at the Office. Although very busy traveling for work, he never missed his daughters sporting events, from softball to basketball, even cheerleading, he was there, in the stands or walking around scratching his head at the play they had just made. Sports were always a topic of discussion, whether trying to help his daughters improve on and off the courts, Atlanta Braves baseball or the Kentucky Wildcats.

Terry wore many “hats” in his life, husband, dad, friend, repair man of just about anything, problem solver, history nerd, John Wayne lover, but his favorite was being Paw to his four grandchildren, Brodie Leigh Pierce, Jacie Jordan Pierce, Cash Christohper Howell, and Parker Jaymes Howell. He spent many of his weekends chasing them around the house, sitting in the chair counting objects, watching westerns and missing them the moment they left the house. He truly was a family man and loved unconditionally. A man of few words, but his heart told everything. He was loved by everyone that knew him and respected by many.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held in Liberty Grove Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
