Thelma Bishop Hamilton

Thelma B. Hamilton, 91, died December 13, 2011 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester, TN. She was born in Bemis, TN on June 15, 1920. She was a graduate of Bemis High School. She had lived the past four years at Autumn Oaks Assisted Living in Manchester, TN. Prior to retirement, she worked at the Bemis Brother’s Bag Company cotton mill for 35 years.

Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband, Grady E. Hamilton Sr., her son, Grady E. Hamilton Jr., brother, Edward Bishop, sister, Nadine Lancaster, and parents, Dewey and Mable Lowrance Bishop.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Gray (Tommy) and their daughters Camiren, Savanna , and Audrey, one sister, Virginia Haltom, and one brother, James Bishop, grand-daughters Romona Rippy , and Lynn Grantham(Bryan) and great-grand-daughters Courtney and Kaitlyn Grantham.

Mrs. Hamilton was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Bemis. Brother John Norvell, will be conducting her services on Friday December 16, 2011 at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.at George A Smith and Sons North Chapel.
