Thomas E Mcalexander

Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2011 at the North Chapel of George A Smith and Sons Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Mr. McAlexander's funeral will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church.

Thomas McAlexander was born January 1, 1926 in Carroll County, TN and grew up the youngest of five children. He entered World War II in 1944 at the age of 18, where he served our country in the 16th Armored Division. He married Mattie Lee Smith in 1947 and remained a faithful loving husband until her death in 2006.

Mr. McAlexander was an employee of Tennessee Pump and Supply Company from 1948 until his retirement in 1998. He was involved in the Exchange Club and many charities, including the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. He was a member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church until his death.

Mr. McAlexander will be greatly missed by his three children, Monte McAlexander and wife Holly of Jackson, Eric McAlexander and wife Sue Ellen of Detroit, Brenna Bailey and husband Ted of Dallas; six grandchildren, Olivia McAlexander, Scott Neal, Kevin Neal, Melanie Hawkins, Laurie McAlexander and Kathryn McAlexander; five great grandchildren.

Donations in memory of Thomas McAlexander may be sent to Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church or the Exchange Club/Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
