

She was born on March 14, 1935 in Jackson to the late Nicholas and Virginia Corley Everett. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1953 and enjoyed attending several class reunions over the years. She had a lengthy career as a telephone operator at several locations, primarily with South Central Bell / BellSouth (now AT&T). She was among the last BellSouth operators to work in Jackson, TN in the late 1970s.
She served as pianist at Bascom United Methodist Church where she attended for many years, and has recently attended The Hope Center of Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Moore; son-in-law, William Gary Smith; brother, Floyd Everett; and step-son, Johnny Lee Moore.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah A. (Biscontine) Smith of Jackson; brother, Ed Everett (Fran) of Jackson; sister, Esther Crawford (Pat) of Stone Mountain, GA; grandson, JT Smith of SeaTac, WA; stepson, Kenny Moore (Christa) of Kansas City, MO; step-grandson, Chad Moore (Abby) of Waverly; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joel Nulty officiating. A graveside committal service will follow that afternoon at 2 p.m. at Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
