Brother Kendall was a fine man who shared the Lord with many. I am grateful to have known him growing up in Union City.

I worked with Fred during summers while in college at Belmont. One of those summers Fred also worked at Camp Carson Baptist Summer Camp. The camp was staffed with college students. I have lots of fun memories of Fred from that experience. 

I was excited when later I knew he was working at Belmont, and I received a very nice note from him after I made a donation to the college.

A wonderful man who gave so selflessly to many and without knowing it touch thousands more through his work at Belmont University.  I met with him once just to know him better but he turned the tables on me to get to know me better.  He did share his basic story and that story continues to inspire.

Dear Kendall Family - I can't tell you what a kind and thoughtful friend Fred was to me.  He always has a lending ear, an encouraging word, and wise thought to share with me.  He always made time to chat about my work, my family, and share what new was going on with his family and work here at Belmont.  I'm so saddened by the news.  The last time we had one of our chats, we reminisced on how good God is, and what wonderful things He has done - here at Belmont and in our lives.  He encouraged me greatly and I'm forever grateful for his time.  I value and treasured our talks and working here at Belmont together.  Praying for you all and the family he loved so dearly. Ms. Yvonne, I just found out about Dr. Kendall. My heart is breaking. He was such a godly, sweet, kind, and thoughtful man. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him for many years at Belmont. 

He loved his family so much, and I loved to hear him share stories about you all. He especially lit up when he spoke about you, his beautiful wife.  He was so proud of his sons and that Isabella, had his heart hooked from the time she entered this world. Hearing about the work that his father did for the Kingdom was a history lesson in itself. 

Listening to his stories and learning from his wisdom was such a great joy.

I have to admit, I would also get a kick when I saw him "scrolling" across campus. No one, in my opinion, was as "cool" as Dr. Fred Kendall! He had a smooth stride/glide that set him apart from everyone else. 

That gentle giant will be thoroughly missed. I pray for God's strength, peace, and comfort for you and your family.  In the name of Jesus. Amen and Amen.

Dr. Fred Kendall was my pastor for many years growing up. Rick, Scott, Mrs. Yvonne and family, I'm so sorry to hear of his passing, but rejoice in knowing he has heard "welcome, My good and faithful servant".  My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time, and you hold a very special place in my heart. I loved Dr. Kendall and you all very much and have so many fond memories of your family.  Throughout the years that i was fortunate enough to be involved in the church where your family served, Dr. Kendall baptized me, counseled me, and performed my wedding. He was a very strong influence in my life,  and taught me so much about my Savior. I will always be thankful for his example and influence. I have always loved the Kendall family.  I was baptized by him and he did my little one Brock’s funeral  1980-1983.  They were family to us.  We continued to stay in contact with them and visit with them at their home.  They will always hold a special place in our hearts.   Shelia Ward

I'm so sad to hear about Fred's passing.  I worked with him for 20 + years at Belmont and continued to see him in passing even in the last four or five years.  He was such an outstanding man, loved by everyone, always so helpful and encouraging.  Fred was an icon at Belmont.  I miss him dearly.
