

William Haynes Pollard, a cherished husband, father, and esteemed professional, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, at the age of 87. Bill lived a life marked by dedication, leadership, and a profound love for his family and friends.
Bill's illustrious career saw him serve as the Deputy Director of the FAA, where he contributed significantly to the field of aviation safety and management. His leadership skills and vision further led him to become the CEO of Air Services Australia, where he continued to impact the industry with his strategic direction and commitment to excellence. Bill later founded William Pollard Consulting, sharing his vast expertise and wisdom with clients worldwide. He was honored to have been associated with the Glen A. Gilbert Award at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, a testament to his remarkable contributions to aviation.
Outside of his professional achievements, Bill was known for his love of tennis and golf, where he often found joy and camaraderie.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Evelyn Ezzell and Herman Pollard. Bill leaves behind his devoted wife, Jewell P. Pollard, and his cherished daughter, Susan L. Pollard, who will continue to honor his legacy with the same love and passion for life that he embodied.
William Pollard's life was one of purpose, kindness, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
